The Storage Unit Gets A Make Over

So a few months ago, Brent and I decided it was time to finish the basement. For almost 5 years, our basement has served as a huge storage unit. Now, our cars are in the driveway and the garage is our storage unit! Here's a look at the floorplan:

And a look at the storage unit...

Our friend in the ward is a professional commercial framer. He used metal studs which gives us super super straight walls. (His wife is one of my great primary teachers!)

After the plumbing and electrical, up went the sheet rock.

Up to this point, we let Oscar and his crew do all the work. We'd come downstairs with pizza, or the camera or find an excuse to get something out of food storage. Mostly, we just were just too excited about the transformation and wanted to see what was happening!

But, then came the part where we had to get dirty...PRIMING! Our bishop loaned us his paint spayer (best invention ever!) and we primed the ceilings and walls. Thanks Ginger for helping us out! When we finished, we were splattered from head to toe!

Ellie looked at me and said, "doo-tie, mama"!
